The lower Sacramento has been fishing really well lately! It doesn’t hurt that there have been lots of Caddis, Blue Wing Olives and PMDs hatching.
Caddis season is in full swing!
John Dietz at The Fly Shop in Redding encouraged us to pick up a few dries when we were in the shop this week! And right he was! Small dark winter Caddis were hatching in the morning along with some PMDs followed by Mothers day Caddis with the green egg clusters came off starting around 2:00 p.m.

Feather River
Current Fishing – Fair to good
Flows - Low clear (<600 cfs)
Prognosis - Good

The Feather is wrapping up the best year of Steelhead fishing in recent memory, but as recently as two weeks ago it has been on fire. Our guides have had multiple Steelhead days of 5 to 7 fish going as big as 10 lbs!

We spent two days on the Lower Sac with clients Jeff D. and Jim W. from Granite Bay. We fished the top end on day one. We hooked quite a few fish the largest of which hammered the egg patterns.
Success is sweet!
