Welcome to Tarpon Town

Located near Campeche on the Southwest of the Yucatan Peninsula is a tarpon fishing destination so extraordinary that is called "tarpon town". Fish with the very first native guide service in town and benefit from these guides' years of experience on their home waters.

The Biosphere Reserve of "Los Petenes" is a vast system of mangrove, wetlands and turtle grass flats. Constant streams of fresh water from the springs to the salty gulf making it the perfect brackish waters for juvenile tarpon (5-20 pounds), snook, snapper, jacks and barracudas; all in one to nine foot of water.

25 ft. Mexican panga boats are perfectly outfitted with flat carpeted floor and casting deck, rod holders, stocked coolers and brand new 60HP Yamaha motors. Patient searching, locating and waiting for the guide to position the boat to be able to make an accurate presentation, strip set to hook the bony mouth, and how the king when it jumps...that's tarpon fishing.
